About Hathor's Hips
Hathor’s Hips was founded in 2008 and is the student troupe of Belly Dance Topeka. The troupe currently consists of Huraiva as troupe director and six advanced level students all with several years experience in belly dance. The troupe dances at a wide range of community events, as well as performing at shows around the region. Hathor’s Hips members have studied a range of styles and props and all have their special areas of interest and expertise.
Hathor's Hips currently consists of Huraiva as troupe director and three advanced level students (Tiffany, Hallie and Kaylin). Troupe membership is by invitation only. If you are interested in joining the troupe, an invitation to join may be extended to you as a student in the advanced belly dance class after completion of at least one session of advanced classes. Invitations are only extended upon unanimous agreement of all current, active troupe members.
Once you join the troupe, you must maintain enrollment in both Advanced Belly Dance and Performance Preparation classes with an attendance rate of at least 75% of all classes. Additionally there are continuing education requirements that must be met each year. You can attend workshops, work with DVDs, read books, take online classes, or even take classes in a different related disciple (yoga, ballroom dance, etc) to complete the continuing education requirements.
