Gypsy/Skirt Technique

There are three different styles of gypsy dancing covered here, with only two or three videos per style. All are good choices depending on what style you want. If you need help picking a style Turkish is the one most people think of when they think gypsy.

Dunyavi Gypsy Volume 1 (Dalia Carella) – this DVD includes technique on Dalia’s signature gypsy style of dance. Her style is a fusion of Turkish, Spanish and East Indian Gypsy style movements.

Dunyavi Gypsy Volume 2 (Dalia Carella) – This DVD teaches a choreography using Dalia’s Dunyavi Gypsy technique. I would only recommend doing this DVD if you are familiar with both Turkish and Spanish Gypsy or have done the first volume in the series.

Gypsy Fire Part One (Amaya) This is more documentary on the history of the Spanish Gypsies and the dance style than instructional DVD. However the last 15 minutes or so of the DVD does teach a few dance steps.

Gypsy Fire Part 2 (Amaya) This is the second DVD in the two part series, where the first DVD focused on history, this one teaches dance steps and a choreography.
